Sale on Terrains in Lloydminster

2012 Terrain Clearance in Lloydminster!

The Terrain is one of our favorite vehicles on the lot, and it is a vehicle that we are proud to brag about.  It came out in 2011, and the 2012 version made slight changes in the interior details, as well as the “info-tainment” system.  The styling is a “standout” as some say, with an extremely aggressive look.  Where some say it is too chunky, and some say that it could dial down its extremely aggressive look, we say it fits perfect around Lloydminster.  People adore the part-Tonka look married with the most comfortable interior in the automotive business.

Also, because the Terrain offers varied powertrains (meaning, a person can choose an engine, either a 2.4 V4 or a 3.0 V6), it has given our customers a choice on performance, ride capabilities, and most importantly a huge payment differences!

Our favorite thing about the Terrain is that it offers the best in its class for passenger ROOM!  If anybody is sitting in the back seat, especially your taller guests, they are going to be comfortable from start to finish of a long road trip.  The Terrain offers the best leg room than any other vehicle in its class, and every customer who has bought one will testify to that!

Westridge Buick GMC is having a fall clearance on all our 2012 Terrain vehicles right now! Ask a salesperson for a free quote on your favourite 2012 Terrain by clicking here!

The WINNERS of the LLOYDMINSTER CPCA will WIN a GMC TRUCK!!!

One of the best things about buying from Westridge is that we are involved with our community, and this year the whole town of Lloydminster will be able to participate in the grandstands at the exhibition ground in unraveling the 20th year of Lloydminster’s Biggest CPCA FINALS!  That’s right, I’m talking about the Westridge GMC CPCA finals, where Westridge Buick GMC will be giving away a loaded truck, more specifically a loaded SLT GMC 3500 (1 tonne) 4WD 6.6 diesel dually.  Hot dog will that winning team be happy!

It’s a tough game out there, and just like the chuckwagons, we have our rules in order to keep our doors open and be a winning dealership for ourselves and for our customer.  Our dealership is an Optimum Dealer and, as well, we abide by the Alberta Motor Vehicle Association’s rules and regulations to provide every customer with a form that gives our buyer awareness, and takes the “buyer beware” out of any used car-dealership purchase experience!  Rules and regulations have been created for the car dealership business to operate just like any sport, to ensure the safety of all that are involved and as well as to give the customer and the business an equal and fair chance for a winning experience!

Westridge Sales Department has a Bucket full of Fans!

One of the best things about vehicles is getting one!  It doesn’t matter if it’s used or new, the first day you grab your keys as “the owner,” has the biggest volume of emotions.

And the Westridge Sales Team, known as the Power Team, knows this.  We have a very energetic and compassionate team, so when you walk in our doors, the process is easy.  We listen to what you want, we respond to the market’s price demands, we take pride in our products, and we take extra care in our delivery process.  Because the delivery process is not where the sale ends, but where our relationship, to you as a dealership, begins!

Just think, what happens to you down the road?  Will you need to fill up with gas?  Will you need to get an oil change, rotate your tires, replace air filters?  Where is the best place to go?  Does a private deal offer mechanical or parts expertise for your specific vehicle type?  Are other dealerships looking after you, after the point of sale?

At Westridge, after the exhilarating point of purchase of your new vehicle, when you feel like you have signed your life away, we hold your hand to show you how you can access the best expertise in the auto industry.

Our parts department is open for you from Monday to Friday from 8 am – 5:30 pm, and Saturday from 9 am – 1 pm. We know what kind of aftermarket products are appropriate for your vehicle, and we have extensive knowledge of many intricate and complicated mechanical parts.  For your convenience, we offer competitive packages on winter tires/summer tires, where we don’t hit you with extra costs like installation, we store your tires for FREE, and the change over is FREE when you get a required GM Goodwrench Maintenance on your vehicle!

Our Service Department is open for you from Monday to Friday from 8 am – 5:30 as well.  They offer a no-appointment-necessary oil change and GM Goodwrench Maintenance.  First come first serve!  Just like a quick-lube, and we offer a shuttle service for you so you can run, do your errands, and get your vehicle when it is done, instead of waiting in line.  Our shuttle is FREE and goes anywhere within city limits.

Also, we help you install technology like “myGMC app” or “myBUICK app”, and we love to show  you how useful they can be.  If you bought something other than a GM vehicle, we provide you with maintenance information just the same, and show you little things like how the SYNC works, how to program the key-code on the door, how you can get the Satellite radio, Bluetooth, and the DVD working!

We love how great you feel when you purchase your vehicle, be it the 1st or 52nd!  And we pride ourselves in keeping that feeling alive when you come back to Westridge when you are servicing!

Buick, O How I will Cherish thee for 3 years!

Dear those who are about to purchase a vehicle:

I have a special announcement.  I never thought I would say this, but I have switched from buying cars to leasing cars.  Since April, Buick  has come out with this new leasing package, and the offers it includes for the vehicle purchaser will also turn your head.

I was a University student two years ago, and I wasn’t even thinking about buying a new vehicle, because currently I have lots of debt with my student loan.  But it’s time for a new vehicle.  Thus, I went to Westridge Buick GMC in Lloydminster because they have a great selection of used vehicles, and I was planning on test driving some decent pre-owned vehicles before I made my decision.  I’ve noticed that theytake pride with all their used vehicles:  all of them are clean and filled right full with fuel.  However, I stepped in the showroom, and lo and behold,  I saw the latest product – the new 2012 Buick Verano.

I walked around it, admiring the sleekness of the outside.  Without any pressure to buy, a salesperson welcomed me to Westridge and invited me to sitinside of the Verano, and my first thought was pure unadulterated desire.  I wished to myself, “If only I could figure out how this could fit in my budget!”  Maybe it was because the salesperson was also previously a jedi-knight, yet that salesperson read my mind and surprised me by saying she had bought one, too, this year because it was more affordable to run a new one than a pre-owned one.  I laughed it off because I didn’t believe her, and she nervously joined in as well.  But she told me to come with her, and walked away, so naturally I followed her into her office.  And it was there she calculated my payments on a lease for this Buick Veran .

And I must say, it was a hard decision to lease my new Verano.  Because I’m not impulsive and I generally like to come to my own reasoning for getting something through diligent research.  Secondly, someone once told me that it was always better to “own” then to “rent”.  But here’s the thing: this new program that Buick came out with for leasing is great because my budget has now become fixed and i’m not hit with any surprise costs for the next 3 years!  No Maintenace costs.  No Oil change costs.  No XM radio costs.  No onstar costs.  I diligently figured out exactly what my used Pontiac Pursuit was costing me, in gas, in maintenance, extra costs, insurance, pretty much everything, shall we call it “the spendage” from here on in.  And this may be Murphy’s Law, but the spendage usually happened at the most inconvenient times, does it not? For me, last year, the spendage happened  right before May Long, right before Christmas, and right before my sister’s wedding.  The spendage that I had to do to my older vehicle, towards fixing it, came directly out of my vacation spending money, it it always threw me off of my budget! Instead of eating out and enjoying fine cuisine – I was picking up apples, bread, peanut butter and jelly at the grocery store.

So, looking at these inconvenieces, and seeing how my budget was always blown away every month, I took a leap.  A leap into leasing.  Now all I have is that payment.  And I am very pleased with the product!

Thank you Westridge and I hope GM will keep this Buick Leasing program on longer than July 3rd!!

North Battleford – Westridge Buick GMC in Lloydminster remembers Chief Poundmaker

Is it right, really, to call somebody  Poundmaker, when their name is said Pitikwahanapiwiyin?  The story, as I read this morning, was that Chief Pitikwahanapiwiyin inherited his name from his own grandfather, who had a special ability to attract buffalo into pounds.  The buffalo pound was a huge coral that had piled up leaves and brush along the edges to confuse the buffalo, so they could be killed and used for food, housing, and supplies.  There’s a story where his spirit helpers helped him sing and play the drum to lure 500 buffalo. Poundmaker was born in the Battleford region, and then later raised in the Red Pheasant band when his parents died. In 1881, he split and formed his own band, who settled on a reserve about 40 km northwest of Fort Battleford.  Poundmaker was not opposed of the idea of a treaty, but became critical of the Canadian government’s failures to live up to its promises. The Canadian governnment had promised food in return for the land space that they were using, but with the increasing shortage of buffalo, the Cree often found themselves starving.

In fact, the shortage of buffalo left Poundmaker’s people desperately hungry, and in 1885, they traveled south to Battleford. Oral history accounts suggest Poundmaker went to the fort to speak with the Indian agent, Rae, and reaffirm his loyalty to the Queen after a murder at the nearby Mosquito Reserve; however, the people of Battleford and some of the settlers in the surrounding area, hearing reports of large numbers of Cree and Assiniboine leaving reserves and making their way to Battleford, feared for their safety. On the night of March 30, 1885, townspeople began to abandon the town and seek shelter in the North-West Mounted Police Fort Battleford. When Poundmaker and his party reached the town, the Indian agent refused to come out of the fort to meet with them. He kept them waiting for two days. Telegrams sent by those barricaded in the fort indicated they believed it was an attack, but Peter Ballantyne exited the fort and, acting as a spy, checked Poundmaker’s plans and found his intentions peaceful.

Looting of the abandoned buildings of the town took place, but the identity of the looters is disputed. Some reports claimed Poundmaker’s people were responsible, but one observer alleged that most of the looting had already been done by whites.

On May 2, 1885, a military force of 332 Canadian troops, led by Lieutenant-Colonel William Dillon Otter, attacked Poundmaker’s camp near Cut Knife Hill. When the army was forced to retreat, Poundmaker, who had not taken part in the fight, prevented his warriors from pursuing the soldiers. It is thought that this action prevented the losses of many lives on both sides since a serious amount of counter-measures would have had to be placed to cover the retreat—and the Indians fought best while their enemy was retreating.

Lloydminster and Positive Thinking in the Automobile Industry

So you woke up this morning, and as you went to start your vehicle, you heard a, “Click”.  And Stop!  What are you thinking!  Was it dread? Was it a swear-word?  Was it anxiety?

We all know that our thoughts actually have an impact on our health. Those who think positively  live longer, experience less depression, are generally happier, get sick less  often, have a much lower risk of death due to cardiovascular disease and reduced  stress. Stress occurs when the body prepares itself for hardship. The body  anticipates hardship when negative thoughts fill the mind, causing it to release  fewer stress hormones.

So why would we make a car stress us out?  That’s why local buyers, in Lloydminster, appreciate the business Westridge Buick GMC can provide.  Westridge BUICK GMC has world class service facilities, so when that vehicle made that, “Click,”  it’s a matter of passing on that stress to their Service Department.  Read their google reviews.  They provide the ultimate customer service!

Also, while optimism is mostly beneficial, those thinking positively that their car will start eventually should also keep  in touch with what is really occurring. For instance, someon whose vehicle has an expense of $3000 to fix should consider recycling that vehicle into a newer one.  Optimism still go hand in hand with Realism, the problem should not be ignored and the positive thinker can finde the right solution to their problem
